Oracle Park is now open for baseball (no restrictions) but bring a mask if anti-vaccine idiots sneak into the stadium.
The Dodgers are Going Home down 3 games to the G-Men in the NL West
The series against the Dodgers, both in LA and ending today with Cueto’s takedown of Cody Bellinger and David Price, has been riveting. The Giants took 5 of the 7 games against LA. The series ended up with the Giants having the best record in baseball and being three games on top of the NL West.
And this was without Crawford (until today), Posey (who was scratched today with concussion symptoms from yesterday’s game), Longoria, Belt and La Stella - all on the DL.
Now we have a series starting tomorrow against the Astros, the best team in the American League. This is the middle of one of the toughest stretches of the year and a set of tickets for the showdown on Saturday just came open.
The G-Men have shown grit, dedication, and a roster where it seems that everyone plays every day. Kapler is not afraid to switch players in and out to get the best match up possible and it works.
Will the Giants Make a Move Before the Trade Deadline?
The Giants need not make a move. The team will be better off getting the players on the DL healthy and keeping the line moving. The Dodgers, on the other hand, are reported (as of tonight – 7/29) to be emptying their farm system to sign Max Scherzer (the All-Star pitcher) and Trea Turner (the star shortstop) from the Nationals. That is typical of the Dodgers – if you can’t beat the Giants on talent try to buy your way to the playoffs. We will see if that works.
Regardless, the Astros are in town and that’s what’s important right now.

Ciao, and GO GIANTS!

THE PROTOCOL: the firm has four seats in Section 118 (Premium Lower Boxes), Rows 25 and 26. These are awesome seats directly below the press box and 25 rows behind home plate on the left side behind the screen. It is foul ball territory for left-handed batters so bring your glove – I have collected 17 foul balls myself over 19 years, am looking for more and caught my latest ball at the Cards game on July 5th [film available!]. If we don’t use all the tickets ourselves (or clients and friends of the firm don't claim them by calling me and reserving a game), then my next step is to give the tickets TO THE FIRST PERSON WHO GETS BACK TO ME PROVIDED THAT THEY ARE SERIOUS. If you ask for the tickets and don't use them, you will be taken off the list unless there is a seriously good reason. There will be a wait list.
When there are four seats available (we split up a lot of games) we will allocate the tickets two and two if the first people back just want two tickets. You can also go for four and might get them. I'm the Czar, my call.
